Damon Wayans began his career performing as a comedian and actor throughout the 1980s. His early work included a notable, albeit brief, appearance on the acclaimed NBC sketch comedy series, Saturday Night Live. This period established him as a key figure within the Wayans family of entertainers.
Pioneering Sketch and Writing Career
His career accelerated when he joined the family on Fox's sketch comedy show, In Living Color, from 1990 to 1992. Beyond sketch comedy, he demonstrated his writing prowess by creating and performing on his own animated series, Waynehead (1996–1997), and the live-action series Damon (1998).
